Obituary
Mary Adaline Oldfield Thomas Nyberg
Mary was born in the Blue Mountains in Idaho August 4, 1920. She attended several schools throughout her childhood. She married H. Bruce Thomas in 1937. While he was away serving in WWII, she worked as a welder in the shipyards in Kirkland. She had various jobs throughout her life, but the job she loved best was raising her two children and being a mom. She married Christian Nyberg in 1972. She is survived by two children, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-greats.
She moved from Salem, Oregon to Federal Way five years ago to be near her daughter, Sandy.
Her hobbies were reading and dancing. When her eyesight was better, she loved needlework. Even after her eyesight and hearing were fading she would find ways to read books on tape and listen to music. Whenever she heard music her toes would start tapping. Her friends would take her to senior centers in the area so she could continue to dance God bless them. She was always a good and caring friend.
A visitation for Mary will be held Sunday, March 8, 2009 from 2:00 – 5:00pm at Bonney-Watson Federal Way, 1535 SW Dash Point Rd, Federal Way, WA 98023. The Graveside Service will be Monday, March 9, 2009 at Belcrest Memorial Park, 1295 Browning Ave. S., Salem, OR 97302.
