Mary Ann Catherine Swanke was born on a farm near Tower City, ND, the daughter of Gustav and Roselyn (Weis) Swanke. She grew up in the area, graduating in 1948 and then attended Dakota Business College in Fargo, ND.
In 1949 she married Irvin J.Earles and two years later they moved to Anchorage, AK where they lived for 20 years. Two years after a move to Anacortes, WA, Irv was killed in a mining accident leading her to return to AK for another 10 years. After a successful 30 year career in the FAA she retired to Federal Way, WA where she remained for another 30 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings. She is survived by her many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Mary Ann has been a member of St. Theresa Parish since 1990 where she has been active in many ministries, including bringing the Eucharist to the sick.
