Obituary

Mary Ann passed away July 5, 2004 in Seattle, Washington. She was born to Daryl E. White and Frances T. White in Seattle on March 28, 1922. She was raised on Capitol Hill, where she attended Holy Names Academy. She attended Seattle College for two years. She left there to do wartime work at the Boeing Airplane Company. While there, she met and married Thomas F. Murphy an officer in the Air Defense of Puget Sound. She accompanied her husband to Peru and spent three years in South America where he was an advisor to the Government of that country in matters having to do with housing.

Upon completion of her husband’s tour of duty, the family returned to the States where her husband continued to work in the Real Estate field for the U.S. Government in Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and San Francisco. Upon his retirement, they returned to Seattle. On August 16 of this year, Mr. and Mrs. Murphy would have completed 60 years of very eventful and happy lives together. God saw it otherwise, taking Mary Ann away to the eternal bliss of Heaven. Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Tom, and by her children, Thomas F. Murphy III, R. Christopher, Peter William, Sean Joseph and Maureen Frances Pokorski, along with her two grandsons. She is also survived by her brother, Bob White. Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Friday the 9th of July at 11:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Church, 732 18th Ave East, Seattle.
