Obituary
Mary C. Kidd,
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Born May 10, 1921 in Seattle, WA, passed away peacefully on May 2, after a brief illness. Preceded in death by her mother and father, Mark and Clemence Logan and sisters, Phyllis Logan and Margaret Lucca. Survived by her husband, Edward L. Kidd and brother, Mark Logan wife Patty, three children Marge Garrison husband Marvin, J. David Kidd wife Laurie and Joey Zimmerman husband Jim and two grandchildren Brian and Steven Kidd.
Mary will be remembered for her dedication to family and her artistic pursuits. Married to Edward for sixty three years, they lived in West Seattle from 1946 to 2006. Mary graduated from Highline High School in 1940 and was married October 10, 1944. As a young woman and mother in the 1950’s, Mary focused her attention on being a good wife and mother.
As her children grew older Mary became an avid artist who painted prolifically in the 1960’s and 1970’s, entering shows, displaying her art and selling her paintings and other artistic creations throughout the area. One of her many specialties was portrait painting, especially children and pets. Many of her friends and co-workers continue to proudly display her artwork in their homes.
Following her husband’s 1980 retirement as City of Seattle Comptroller, Mary and Ed settled back to enjoy their family, especially their grandchildren.
Mary touched many lives and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
