Mary Jane “Jean” was born in Glen Ullin, North Dakota to John Weiler and Mary Anna Schmidt. She graduated from Glen Ullin High before going off to nursing school. She attended St. Alexis School of Nursing and become a Reserve Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army, promoting to the rank of Major. Jean spent most of her career as a General Duty and Surgical Nurse in the 311th Ft. Lincoln General Hospital of Bismark, North Dakota.
As a civilian, Jean spent many years as an emergency room nurse at Niobrara Community Hospital in Lusk, Wyoming. She moved to Seattle in 2019 where she spent her final years with her brother, Joe. Jean and her brother’s; Thomas, U.S. Army, and Joe, U.S.M.C. will find their final resting place at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
