MaryJane (Jollimore) Wasson was born in Stoughton, Massachusetts on January 2, 1932 to Greenwood Ambrose and Helen Jollimore. She left us on January 5th, 2016.
MaryJane loved and was much loved by all who knew her. She leaves behind many beloved family members and friends. She is survived by the love of her life, her best friend and husband, Donald F. Wasson. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Coyle of Massachusettes.; sister-in-law Madeline Wasson; nephews James Jollimore and Steven Wasson; nieces Janie (Jollimore) Lyle and Lorraine (Wasson) Comen; her great nieces and nephews; as well as many great great nieces and nephews and her best friend of many years, Jan Ursino. She was preceded in death by her two sons – Bruce Wasson and Brian Wasson; her brother Greenwood Jollimore Jr.; sister-in-law Betty (Lewis) Jollimore; brother-in-law John Coyle and brother- in- law, Dick Wasson.
Mary Jane grew up and attended school in Stoughton, Massachusetts. She moved to Washington in 1954 where she met the love of her life and, after seven years of courting, married Donald Wasson in 1969. She raised two sons: Bruce and Brian, each of who died at an early age in two separate tragic accidents.
MaryJane’s spare time was filled with several activities. Among them were swimming, sailing, and ballroom dancing. She and her husband were fortunate to have been able to travel exstensively. They traveled to many cities in many states including Alaska and Hawaii. They cruised to several Islands in the Caribbean, around South America and went Steam Boating up and down the Mississippi River. They traveled to Indonesia, Mexico, Bali, Tahiti, Bora Bora, and most of the other islands in French Polynesia. They also enjoyed many years of winter vacations at the Bay Club in Waikoloa, Hawaii.
So sorry to hear about Mary Jane. So many great things were said about her at her service. All of them very true. Even though we are not family, we always felt like part of the family when whenever we were with you. To all of your family, it is a great loss, but we will all remember Mary Jane and have a big smile on our faces when we do!!!
