I first met Maureen in 2006 at City Hall. We volunteered together on the Arts Commission and Historical Society events. She was always helping others. I will miss her late night phone calls.
I met Maureen through her connection with the Historical Society of Federal Way. She was always supportive of the organization and looked for ways to improve its visibility in the community. She was my mentor when I participated in the Oral History project and made the whole process a breeze. Her smile and soft-spoken cordiality will be missed.
I met Maureen this summer at her home in the Smoke Tree Condo. She was sitting in her garage cooling off and I needed some information, we had just purchased across from her.
She was very friendly, out going and gave me the answers I needed. She told me of her cancer and continued with a positive attitude. That’s the strength I remember from Maureen. She was positive and strong and carried that to the end. She was a wonderful woman and great friend. She is missed.
I have known Maureen since 1983 when I started working at the salon I now own. She has been a customer and a friend all these years. I just found out about her passing. She has always made me feel like a part of her family. She wanted to know everything that was going on in my life and gave me sound advice. She had an amazing outlook on life and when she got the diagnosis, her bravery and attitude were amazing, truly something I try to mimic in my own life. She was a weekly customer and it was always an adventure listening to her activities! I have missed that. I speak for all of us at The Haircase when I say that this is a tragic loss and we will really miss her.
We will miss Maureen, her smile, laugh and her service to so many others. Prayers for friends and family.
I very much appreciated Maureen for her friendly demeanor, her interest in exploring history, and her support of youth. She is missed!
We sent Mo a Christmas card and it was returned to us today, 12/23..
We are so sad for your loss. .
