March 3, 1953 - January 29, 2008

Obituary

was born on March 3, 1953 to Edward W. Lee and Altia E. Lee. He left us quietly after a brief illness on January 29, 2008. He was the third of their three children. He was always considered to be the baby.

Michael attended Forrest Park High School and is a graduate of Morgan State University with a BS in Business Administration, both located in Baltimore, Md.

Michael worked for many years at Levitz in San Leandro, CA. as a Salesman and also as their Sales Manager for a short time. The friendships that he developed there have continued to this day.

He moved to Seattle, Washington in June 2006 to participate in the Matt Talbot Center. This is where he came to turn his life around. He had been clean and sober since coming to the program and learned to love the Lord and started his journey to becoming a saved man. This was no small task and thru the journey, he developed many friendships from the men and women that he lived with all of these months. He attended several group meetings, where he continued to grow and had a profound influence on the people around him.

Michael worked at Lowe’s in Seattle, where he once again began to shine. When you say his name, you immediately hear his laughter and you see those green eyes looking back at you.

Michael was married for a short time to Dorothea Lee while he was in Baltimore. Since leaving Baltimore, he was involved with two women, both named Valerie. The first Valerie continues to live and work in northern California. He and Valerie Taylor have been friends since they were 8 years old and she considers him her first love. She was at his side when he closed his eyes for the final time.

Left to morn him are three children, William Vaughn Lee, Michael B. Lee and Tiffany Lee, one nephew, Jason Lee and three grandchildren, all of Baltimore, Md. His only sister, Evon Lee Thompson, resides in Hayward, Ca. and host of aunts, counins and other relatives, most of whom reside in Baltimore, Md. He was preceded in death by both his parents, his brother Edward W. Lee Jr. of Baltimore, Md. And his nephew, Christopher M. Beams of Hayward, Ca. In addition, Michael has left behind more than a hand full of men, all of whom consider him as their brother.

Although we are all broken hearted, we continue in knowing the Mike is with the Lord and hand in hand with his parents, his brother and his nephew.

Evon, we wish you and all of Michael’s family and friends God’s blessings and much peace. Our friend, Michael, rests easy now. He was an inspiration during the past few years as he committed himself to a better world. We will miss his smile and his warm hugs.

So very sorry about all of your loses particularly Chris. He was like a third son to me. I still greive for the lost of him. Right after he died, I would be in a store, at home and just break down crying for him. I truly loved your son. I only wished I’d gotten the chance to see him again.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I’m so sorry that you have to go through these sorrows. Know that the Lord will sustain you through it all if you call on him.

God Bless and keep you.
