Obituary
Michael Steven Ballard, ‘Uncle Mike’ was called home Monday, June 23rd, 2008. He is survived by his loving children Tammie Mack Patrick, Anthony ‘Tony’ Ballard, grandchildren Kevin Engel, Tasha, David, & Shane Perry, brother Richard ‘Dick’ Ballard, devoted ‘Sister’/niece Charlene Bacalzo Ernie, countless nieces & nephews who he loved and adored & was a constant presence in their lives, a few cousins and many, many friends. He is preceded in death by brother Ray Ballard, sisters’ Kathleen Eighinger, Mildred Battee, Marjorie Richter, and brother Harry J. Ballard Jr. Michael was born April 5th, 1948 in Renton Wa. He attended Renton High School’s class of 1966 and earned his AA degree from Burnley’s Art School of Seattle in 1969. Michael enlisted in the USAF Dec. 15th , 1969 & was honorably discharged from McChord Air Force Base with the ‘Palace Chase’ program on January 1, 1972 and joined the reserve unit of the Air National Guard at Paine Field in Everett, Wa. He retired in 1991 after serving 19 ½ years. Mike was very proud of his service to our country . He served his community in the Lions Club, USO, and was an inspiration to his church family at Resurrection Lutheran Church. Viewing is available at Bonney-Watson Parker Chapel in Burien on Thursday, June 26th from noon – 8pm and Friday, June 27th from 10am until 8pm. Services commemorating his life will be Saturday, June 28th, 2008 at Resurrection Lutheran Church located at 134 So. 206th St. Des Moines, Wa. at 4pm with a reception to follow. Internment will be Monday, June 30th, 2008 at Tahoma National Cemetery, located at 18600 S.E. 240th, Kent, Wa. at 1:15 pm. For more information preview www.bonneywatson.com
I am so sorry for your guys loss. I knew mike and he was a great man. He will be missed.
I remember Mike as a very friendly guy and a saddened by his passing. May God comfort you in the following days. His passing will leave a large hole in your families’ life. God Bless you and thank you for sharing Mike with us at the 215th.
My condolences and prayers to the family of Mr. Mike Ballard. I appreciate his friendship over the past 18 years at the Boeing Co. He brought much light to the crew on nightshift. One last salute to you,from a fellow reservist.

Mike Ballard was always there with a smile and a hello. It is sad that he has left us so early in life. Mike was the person who never forgot a friend.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Mike’s passing. I worked closely with Mike in the Engineering Cell of the 215 EIS, WA ANG, Everett WA.
He left us much too early.
Mike was always somebody I could
talk to in the Air National Guard.
His was a friendly face and played
no games. He will be missed by all
of us in the old group of the 215EIS.
My Uncle Mike was unique and interesting Man. His laugh reminded me of my Mother Kathleen.my thoughts are filled with sadness and pain he was more like our generation in that he was closer to our age than his brothers and sisters.I want to express mysorrow to all of us who loved Uncle Mike as a friend and Uncle .We will miss him dearl praying for us all in our time of sorrow Mikes Nephew Phillip D.Johnson
Our prayers and thoughts go out to the family and friends of Michael.I visited him in the hospital on several occasions in the past year, and always found him to have a positive attitude regardless of his physical condition. He will be missed by many. May he rest in peace.
We were neighbors of Mike and “Char”. I remember Mike painting signs in the workshop where they lived. Always the busy young man.
