Obituary
Mildred E. Gillmor was born on December 19, 1919 and passed into eternal rest on April 7, 2008. She graduated with the Swedish Hospital nursing class of 1939 and worked as an RN during the years before her marriage to Lloyd G. Gillmor in 1944. She and Lloyd lived in many beautiful places around the Northwest during his career with the forest service. They retired to Olympia where Lloyd preceded her in death in 1979. Milly then joined a tour group and traveled extensively around the world.
Milly’s life was centered on her faith and she was active at First United Methodist Church in Olympia for many years. She served as a Stephen minister, food bank volunteer and member of numerous committees for the church. Milly was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Milly relocated from Olympia to the Tri-Cities in 2006 to be better loved and cared for by her niece, Linda Hardy. She lived at the Manor at Canyon Lakes and then at Home Sweet Home in Pasco. Heartfelt thanks to Linda B. and the staff at Home Sweet Home for their loving care and also to Heather, Pat and others at Hospice for their help and compassion.
Milly was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Annette Johnson, sister, Mary Watkins and brother, Roy A. Johnson. A sister, Carol Bob Franzen of Spokane survives her. Aunt Milly is lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Linda Don Hardy – Kennewick; Janice Bob Lohn – Vancouver, WA; Brian Nancy Gillmor – Grand Forks, B.C.; Gary Franzen – Tacoma; Jim SalomeCrouch – Nigeria, Africa; David Nancy Crouch – New Jersey; Judi John Mitchell – Castro Valley, CA; Rich Lydia Crouch – Camano Island; Cheri Larry Watts – Princeton, TX and Jeff Erika Franzen – Snoqualmie. She is also survived by 22 great nieces and nephews and 2 great-great nephews.
A celebration of Aunt Milly’s life for her family and friends will take place in Seattle on Friday, April 18 at 11:00 A.M. at BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd., SeaTac. 206 242-1787
