Obituary
Mildred Frances (Fearno) Butler
Mildred (Milly) Butler passed away on September 18, 2014. Milly lived a full and rewarding 91 years. She is preceded in death by her husband Carl and son Lawrence, she is survived by her two sons Vance and Wes, daughter-in-laws Sue and Lori, grand children Loren, Lucas, Leah, Chase and Tanner and great-grand daughter Elizabeth as well as many nieces and nephews.
Milly was born in Springfield, Illinois where she spent her early childhood, always speaking fondly of her time there, spending summer afternoons going to chataugua’s near the Missouri river with friends and relatives. In her teens, Milly came to Seattle with family. She attended West Seattle High School graduating in the Class of 1941. In the summer of 1944 a handsome sailor, Carl, swept her off her feet and they were married that fall. They celebrated their love for 55 years.
Carl and Milly enjoyed traveling and spent many years RV’ing around the western states. In later years they wintered in Arizona enjoying the sun and social activities at the Lost Dutchman park in Apache Junction.
Milly led a very active social life, participating in Gardening Club, Grandmothers Club (she was president for three years), Teddy Bear Club, Red Hat Society, Mike and Key Club, and their RV club. Music was a passion for Milly and she sang for many years with local groups, particularly the Choral-ettes, Hi-Notes and in her church choir.
Gifted with an amazing memory, and an active and curious mind up to her passing, Milly read constantly and was number one on our list for “phone-a-friend”
In addition to her family, Milly especially loved her companion toy poodles, over the years she was in return, loved by Punky, Maechen, Megan, and Shy-Ann
A Celebration of Milly’s life will be observed October 18, 2014, 11:00 AM at Northwest Family Church, 3535 Auburn Way S, Auburn. WA 98092
