Obituary
Milton Verle Svedahl
May 24, 1940 – February 11, 2017
Milt passed away after an extended illness with Pat, his wife and best friend by his side. Milt was born to Marvin and Violet Svedahl in Fosston, Minnesota. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He spent most of his tour of duty in Germany. After his enlistment, he returned to Minnesota only to move a short time later to Las Vegas, Nevada. On a vacation to visit family in Seattle, he fell in love with the Pacific Northwest and moved here.
Milt went to work for North Coast Electric. He worked there for 40 years until his retirement in 2006. Preparing for his retirement, Milt and Pat purchased a piece of property in Glenoma, Washington. When they weren’t traveling around the country in their RV, they split their time between their home in Burien and the property in Glenoma. Several years ago, Milt realized keeping up two homes was just too much work and decided to sell the property in Glenoma. Milt always loved classic cars. Finally last year, he found the one he had been looking for, a 1940 Chevy Business Coup. “Lulu” was his pride and joy. He loved driving her around town. Milt’s constant companion during his retirement was his beloved chocolate lab Bear. They did almost everything together.
Milt was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Violet Svedahl and his sister, Carol Dulmage. He is survived by his wife, Pat; daughters Teri Svedahl of Vail, Arizona and Jenna (Denny) Kubes of Zimmerman, Minnesota; grandson Zakary Gustafson; his beloved special family, Lori, Jim, Joshua, Nicolas, and Alissa Gustafson and Hauna Olsen; is aunts Irene Fraley and Lorraine Svedahl of Fosston, Minnesota; brother Lyle (Barb) Svedahl; sisters Gloria Svedahl, Valerie (Larry) Roering, and Gail Straub; brother-in-law Tony (Brandi) McMilian of Beaumont, Texas and sister-in-law Deborah (Ron) Cameron of Millport, Alabama; nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.
At Milt’s request, there will be no formal services. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.
Milt and I were best buds for 49 years. I am really going to miss him. We spent many days working together, hunting, partying and hanging out. He was a special friend to all my family.
Uncle Milt as we called you in Peyton Place. Your smile and laugh made me so happy. We would do our skips at the campfires on Saturday night. You were the BEST person to do our fanatics on. Peyton Place has so many memories for me. You are a special part of them for me. Wild Duck lake, Lake Mayfield, the ocean for Presidents weekend, the Christmas parties, the times the Dads would pull us behind the motorcycles in the snow on 31st place So many memories you gave to me. Uncle Milty the. kiddies pal!!!! Thank you for all that you gave to me! From the oldest Pee Wee Posse Love you!
Dear uncle Mickey. I’m so happy you met my family. A big part of who I am is because of you. From an early age your example taught me about dedication and an honest days hard work.
Some of my best memories are with you and uncle Lyle on the farm shooting our guns. I know I was a handful but you had a special way of keeping me in line. You gave me my first real job. I love and miss you Mickey but I know your not in pain and for that I’m happy. You left a significant mark in this world and it will live on in me and what I teach my children. All my love to you. I’ll be there for Pat. I’ll keep my eye on her for you. Anything she needs.

We both have many fond memories of time spent camping with Milt and Pat, they would invite us to the Property or we would meet in Morton for the parade. Milt was a friend for 40 years I would enjoy stopping by the house for coffee in the morning or a toast in the evening. Salute Uncle Milt
I love you dad and will forever cherish our last talk Friday morning. The kids miss their grandpa and will forever cherish their time with you, you loved them, they knew it and they will forever have their memories of that love. I miss you so much but I know you were tired, this last year has been hard on you. I will keep the promise I made to you, I swear.. RIP dad, we will meet again and when we do, I will be looking for my bear hug. I will love and miss you always

Pat, uncle Milty will be surely missed, he was the best!!!! If you need anything just call
Every year Pat & Milt would drive their RV or camper & park it in the pasture while we went thru another round of Cow Pasture golf. Our greatest pleasure came in the evenings while we spent hours just sitting around enjoying their company. God Bless you Pat, we will all miss Milt!!
Sorry to hear of Milts passing. Was a very tough competitor and had a great deal of respect for him. Had pleasure to meet at a couple of industry events and could see why he was so well respected by the industry. Prayers and thoughts to his family and friends.
