Jan and Kathi, Ron and Betty and Sue

Our deepest sympathy to all of you. She was so much fun and we always enjoyed her hospitality when she’d open her home to us for our family gatherings. I love memories of the times spent out at the lake – Kelly’s baby shower, 4th of July’s with the Skillingstead Family and Sakura Family Reunion and picnics over the years.

My favorite story is from 2004 at a Sakura Family picnic Kelly and Cara were ready to head home in the van, but they had to take Murphy dog who was swimming behind the party boat in the middle of the lake. So with trepidation I handed them the keys to my two week young sports car Kelly had her license two whole days at that point and let them drive from home to Redmond! I got a terrific surprise gift from them for trusting them with my car. It is a very special memory.

I’ll forward some emails that I received from my extended family.

Love you very much. We’ll miss Min.

Love,

Melna

I always found Minnie to be kind hearted and generous. She was gracious and gentle and always made me feel welcome and cared for.

I’ve spent many a forth of July at Minnie’s enjoying the fireworks and great food.

I have been swimming in lake Burien since I was a child and now my children have followed through Minnie opening up her heart and home to so many.

I will miss her and my heart and condolences go out to her family.
