Mu Hak Son, age 89, of Bellevue, Washington, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Mu Hak was born February 5, 1934, to Won Suk Son and Ke Sun Pak in Gyeongju, South Korea.

After serving in the Korean military, he married his lifelong soulmate, Sam Ye Chae, on April 17, 1960. Mu Hak and his wife went on to have three incredible daughters, Kyong Mi, Eun Hye, Kyong O.

Mu Hak Son immigrated to the United States on March 15, 1977, to provide his family with a brighter future. With great effort and much resiliency, he created a wonderful life for his mother, wife, and daughters in Washington State. The love between Mu Hak and Sam Ye endured for nearly 62 years.

Above all else, Mu Hak prioritized family, hard work, and respect for others. He enjoyed exploring new places, collecting knick-knacks, and wandering for hours.

He was deeply loved by his family and will be remembered for his joyful demeanor, laughter and many pranks, his beautiful head of hair, and the sense of calm he would bring to every moment.
