Myrvin Dimmitt

Myrvin was born March 3, 1911 in Renton, Washington. He passed away August 21, 2003 in Soap Lake, Washington at McKay Hospital at the age of 92 years. Myrvin was a graduate of Pullman with a Master’s Degree in teaching. During WWII Myrvin worked for Boeing as Head of Personnel Dept. Myrvin also worked for the US Forrest Service, coordinating fire crews at Darington. His teaching started him off at Darington, then to Concrete, Snohomish and Maple Valley. In 1950 Highline School District opened Beverly Park Elementary where he became the first principle. He was there till the mid 60’s when he went to Lake Burien Elementary till his retirement. Myrvin moved to Ephrata in 1999 to live with his son Robert. Myrvin loved to fly and owned his own small Taylor Craft airplane, playing golf, woodworking, and traveling. Myrvin is survived by his children, Lawrence Donna Dimmitt, Irene Rawson, and Robert Cindy Dimmitt, sisters Charlotte Jasper, and Helen Kohler, 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Myrvin was also preceded in death by is beloved wife of 63 years, Marguerite Dimmitt in 1997 a brother Ellsworth Dimmitt, and a sister Vannetta Dimmitt.
