Dear Catherine, I’m so sorry to hear about your mother. She was a wonderful person who always was willing to give me advice about teaching. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Take care of yourself and let me know how your doing.
In 1967, at Chinook Junior High, Mrs. Gustafson was our advisor for a project where we sent boxes of treats to the Vietnam troops. At the end of the school year, she took us to Spud’s on Alki. She was so beautiful on the inside and out. I wish I’d known she was in the area. I had thought of her so many many times over the years. Please accept my condolances. Wendy Hawthorne-Easter
Dear Catherine,
Dave and I were so sorry to learn from Matt and Merideth about your mother’s death. Although we never met her, we know how much you loved her and enjoyed doing so many things together. I know she was a fine teacher and so are you as you share with your students so many things you learned from her. May God be your strength and help as you go through these difficult days. I pray his love and peace will be with you and with your father also.

Nancy never stopped giving of herself to others. There is no reason to think that she has stopped even now. I am so privileged to have known her.
I am sorry for your loss. You are in our prayers. Mrs. Gustafson was my kindergarten teacher at Sunny Terrace. I have thought of her a lot over the years and wondered how she was doing. God Bless all of you.

Dear Catherine,
I will always remember your Mom’s quick wit and great outlook on life. She was a smart woman who always had an opinion, which I totally enjoyed hearing! Her Christian beliefs seemed to tide her over during tough times, and that is inspiration for all of us. I’m glad to have gotten to know her better in the past years, and we will all miss her.
Please know you have many people praying for the family, and ready to give support wherever needed.
Dear Paul and Catherine & Milt
Please accept my sympathy in the death
of Nancy. I will always remember her smiling face in her classroom. She was a wonderful person and teacher.

Nancy was a very kind and generous person that loved the Lord. Back in college when I Merideth was rooming with Catherine, she would always take us out when she came to town. Also, she took joy every year in throwing a lovely dinner party for Catherine and her friends on Catherine’s birthday. Many of the guests did not even realize each year that it was also Nancy’s birthday as well, as she kept the focus of the party on Catherine – those parties are a precious memory.
Love, Merideth and Matt Randles
