Obituary
Nathan John Briggeman
After a brave and noble battle with cancer, Nathan passed peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on the evening of December 27. He lived full of life in his 33 years on this earth and is now with his Father in heaven. To know “Nat” was to love him and to be blessed by one’s relationship with him. Nathan was a devoted husband, loving brother, special son and caring friend. He had a wonderful sense of humor, endearing laugh and a special connection with young people. Nathan was born in Indianapolis on October 29, 1981, and grew up in the Indianapolis area. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 2000. He attended IUPUI and graduated with a degree from Purdue in Graphics Technology, specializing in Animation. In 2009 he moved to Seattle, Washington, where he met his wife to be, Stephanie Mangum. Nathan and Stephanie were married on September 28, 2012, and shared a condo in Edmonds, Washington, with their dogs Eva and Lexi, while they made plans to begin a family. While in Seattle, Nathan was employed by the Sherwin-Williams Company as manager of one of its local stores. Nathan also joined the Masons while in Seattle, and he recently became a permanent lifetime member of Occidental Lodge No. 72 there thanks to the generosity of his special group of friends at that organization. From his youngest years, Nat developed a special interest in art and the drawing of original science fiction and fantasy characters, which he maintained for a lifetime. To view some of Nathan’s art work you can visit his Facebook page or go to http://protoapollo.tumblr.com
Nathan is survived by his loving wife Stephanie Briggeman, who is the daughter of Derrell and Carol Mangum of Federal Way, Washington. Nathan is the son of Sher Zimmer (husband Mike Zimmer) of Carmel, IN and Fred Briggeman (wife Denise Briggeman) of Brownsburg, IN. Nathan’s sisters are Lauren and Hailey Briggeman, and his brothers are Jason and Isaac Briggeman. Nat was pre-deceased by his grandparents Jim and Betty Crane, of Carmel, and Don and Joanne Briggeman, of Fort Wayne.
Services will be held in Indianapolis at St. Michael Church at 3354 West 30th St., Indianapolis, on Tuesday, January 13. Visitation will be held beginning at 8:30am with Mass at 10:30am. A celebration of Nathan’s life will also be held in Seattle at the Ballard Masonic Center on the evening of Friday, January 23. Friends are also invited to visit Nathan’s on-line obituary at www.bonneywatson.com. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that donations be made to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle or the Esophageal Cancer Awareness Association in Nathan’s name.
thinking of you Steph and Nathan’s family.
Too soon!
I wish I had met Nathan. He sounds like he was a wonderful husband and a beautiful person. I am so sorry for the loss. Stephanie, my heart hurts for you. I love you.
Thinking of you all. I’m so sorry to hear about Nathan losing his battle with cancer. He fought so hard!
‘They’ say the good die young. I now know that this is true. I miss you Nathan.
While the linear time I spent with Nathan was short. We agreed our relationship was that of a brother and sister. We laughed every day together when I worked with him. And when he left on leave we saw each other often for breakfast, coffee, movies, or baking cookies. I loved Nathan like an older brother. I’ll miss him every day.
my thoughts & prayers are with all of Nat’s loved ones.
Fred and Denise:
Our hearts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of sorrow. We hope you find some comfort in knowing Nat has been united with his grandparents and surrounded in the loving embrace of our Lord and Father.

I was blessed enough to know Nathan in High School. He was a special light that was taken from the earth way to early, but I know he is in a better place and his suffering has ended.

I am so sad to hear the news of his passing. I enjoyed plenty of laughter and good moments with him during high school, especially in Organic Chemistry. I cannot believe that he left this world so young. My sincere thoughts are with the family of him as they deal with this time of life lost to young.
Love always, Nikki
I am so sorry about his passing. He was a wonderful husband and companion for you, Stephanie. My heart go our to you, Stephanie, your parents and Nathan’s family. What a wonderful legacy he left. He will be missed by all! Much love to both families and my prayers are with you at this time!!
Gnat,
The world has truly lost a kind and compassionate soul. Your uncanny ability to make people laugh and smile despite all circumstances will truly be missed. I’ll never forget the great times we shared in high school, especially those in theatre or simply in front of our lockers, discussing whatever crossed our minds. You will be missed.
Goodbye friend,
~Akia
Many thoughts and prayers to the Briggeman family. God Bless
Thoughts and Prayers from the Faulk family
Nat,
My Son. I love you and miss you greatly. You picked a good wife and she, in turn, picked a great husband.
God Be With You ‘Till We Meet Again!!
Gnat,
There are no words, but as Dr. Greer would say, May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
With all my love,
Sarah
