Norman E. BJELLAND

Norman Bjelland was born in Fosston, MN on July 19, 1921 and died in Burien, WA on October 30, 2005. He was an avid hunter and fisherman all of his life. He served as President of the Highline Sportsman’s Club for ten years and was a founding member & club historian for the Western WA Walleye Club. He was active in Boeing Rod & Reel and Trout Unlimited. Served in the US Army at Adak, AK. Norm worked at Boeing for 40 years, 20 years of which he was in management. Norm is survived by his wife of 20 years, Alice L. Hill Bjelland, stepdaughter Debbie Hill, sons Carl, Chris, Craig, daughter Carol Walag, his first wife Winifred E. Bjelland, 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, sisters Adeline Butzer, Dorothy Lee, Carol Brown, 12 nieces and nephews and countless cherished friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Trine Bjelland, daughter Karen, and son David. Viewing Wed., Noon-8PM at Parker Chapel Burien. Services Thursday 11AM at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church 158 S. 168th St. Burien. Memorial donations may be made to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. I spent a little time around Norm with Trout Unlimited and the Boeing Rod&Reel club. I have never met anyone who loved fishing, and passing on fishing information as much as Norm did. He will be missed.

Norm was a great person along with his expertise for Washington Fishing. He was one of the best in the west.
