He fought a good fight! I had great respect for Him. He leaves a void. I worked in the D.C. Area for 11 years and 24 years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a professional! I loved him.

My mentor and my friend, your leadership has been sorely missed. No one has displayed the courage, sense of compassion, and/or unselfish leadership that Oscar Eason provided for Blacks In Government. He set a standard that none after him could achieve. Rest In Peace my brother. My friend and my inspiration.

Oscar –
I cannot thank you enough for all the leadership and support
you gave me through the years. You was my mentor and like a father to me.
When I was Region X Regional Council President and I asked you to be my parliamentarian, even though you didn’t want to accept the position, you accepted anyway, to make sure I was passing motions and procedures that were in BIG by-lays and constitution.
I never met Martin Luther King Jr, but I do know Oscar Eason Jr and in my book you are one of the greatest Civil Rights leaders of all times.
Peace and rest my friend.
Rest In Power Honorable Eason. You were a Leader and Trailblazer and you will be greatly missed.
Our sincerest condolences and prayers to the Eason Family.

He exemplified the following:
“You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world.”
Honorable Eason did all that and so much more. As the National President of Blacks In Government, please know that the entire Blacks In Government family is sharing the burden of this loss. Your loss is a loss to all the people who knew him. With love and sympathy.

Oscar was a fighter that fought for the civil rights of those being oppressed. He spent many days of his life helping others. Oscar always had time to fight for the rights of those that needed help in securing their rights. No problem was to large or to small for his assistance.
Oscar will be missed. The civil rights community will have a difficult time in finding some one to fill his shoes..

To Oscar’s family, thanks for sharing this civil rights fighter

My prayers go out to the Eason Family and Friends. Mr. Eason was at the helm of the Blacks In Government Organization when I first entered service for the Federal Government and it was Mr. Eason that taught me the importance of Civil Rights. I applaud him for his work not only in the Blacks In Government Organization but for his tireless work in the Seattle community to ensure that we all knew what Civil Rights meant as a person of color!
