Obituary
Owen T. Williams passed away Monday, Nov. 15 at Virginia Mason Hospital after bravely battling heart issues. He was born on May 26, 1936 in Pottsville, PA.
Owen graduated from Central High School in Nashville, TN., then from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA with an Electrical Engineering degree in 1958. He lived in many places on the east coast before moving to Seattle, WA where he met Sandra Higginbotham at Boeing in 1962. They were married soon after and had two sons.
Owen participated in Indian Guides and was a Scout Master for Cub Scouts. He served as Treasure of the Soccer Club of Renton East and was an assistant soccer coach. He loved to take his family on Sunday car rides including many cross country trips. The most memorable family car trip was a three month trip from Seattle to California, New Mexico, through Texas to Florida. Then they headed north to his parents house in Hyattsville, MD were they celebrated the bicentennial in Washington DC. They returned west through the northern states back to Seattle. During his retirement years he enjoyed working in the yard and caring for the greenhouse he made, photography and genealogy. He also enjoyed taking cruises to Alaska and Mexico.
He was preceded by his wonderful parents, Lloyd and Jessie and brother Robert. He is survived by his loving wife Sandra, two sons Mark and Steven, brother Wayne, sister-in-law Marie and their children Brian and Karen. His local son Mark, life partner Carolyn, and her children Joe, Beau and wife Sabryna, Ashley and her children Jasmine and Eleena. His son Steven, daughter-in-law Debbie, and granddaughters Joelle, Shayla and Kailey of Frisco, Tx.
A graveside service will be held at Washington Memorial on Saturday, November 20 at 2:00.
