Obituary
Patricia (Patti) Ann Loveridge passed away at her home in SeaTac, Washington on September 4th, 2022 at the age of 63.
Patti was born on September 4th, 1959 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Rodney Atkins Sr. and Joanne (Wilson) Derwa. Patti moved to Seattle to Join her father at the age of 14, and after a brief hiatus to Alaska, settled in Seattle to raise a family of her own.
Outside of the home, Patti found both joy and success as a commercial artist. She penned advertisements and logos for businesses large and small including 7-11 convenience stores. Patti thrived as an artist long after abandoning it professionally. She created many pieces as gifts to friends and family that are cherished and proudly displayed in their homes to this day.
In the mid-nineties, Patti discovered her true calling – being a kid again. She began working at High-Sights daycare and eventually purchased the business located at Highland Park Elementary in White Center. She spent her time as an educator and playmate to countless children including her own. Many parents and teachers even mistook her for one of the children as she cooked, did science experiments, created art, and swung on the jungle gym. Patti was truly happiest connecting with her inner child on a daily basis. There are simply no words to describe all of the children and parents whose lives were elevated by Patti’s unabashed, child-like innocence.
She is survived by her loving family including her parents, Rodney Atkins Sr., Joanne (Wilson) Derwa, and Carol (Lotze) Atkins; siblings Rodney Atkins Jr., Doug Atkins, Michelle (Derwa) Gorecki, Scott Atkins, and Cindi (Atkins) Zanazanian; and her children Ken Loveridge, Willie Loveridge, and Sammi (Loveridge) Hoffman.
She is preceded in death by parent Harry Derwa and her brother Tony Derwa. The family is organizing a Celebration of Life for Patti in October with details to be provided at a later date. We invite any person whose life Patti enriched to join us and share their memories
