Obituary
Patricia Vasilj, nee LeTourneau, passed away on January 8, 2025, after her body began to shut down due to Alzheimer’s disease and other ailments. She was 77 years old, preceded in death by her husband, Zdravko Vasilj, and survived by her son, James Vasilj, and his husband, David Nilsson.
She was born in Chicago in 1947 to Donald and Rosemary LeTourneau. Patricia attended Saint Xavier College in Chicago, earning a bachelor’s degree in education, later followed by a master’s degree. She taught at Maria High School and Lourdes High School in Chicago, and then later worked at the Chicago Law Bulletin.
She will be greatly missed by her son and son-in-law, along with other family and friends. She was very welcoming, always wanting to cook large meals for everyone. She also was a very caring individual, spending long stretches of her life taking care of others, including her mother, who also passed away from Alzheimer’s disease, her coworker and friend, Lorraine, and her husband as they aged together. James will never forget how special of a mother she was.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or one of your local animal shelters or rescue organizations.

Our deepest condolences to you. Rad and I are holding you in our hearts.
Pat was a deeply loving, caring, and extremely intelligent woman. Throughout the course of the past fifty plus years Pat continually demonstrated friendship, compassion and support for everyone in my family. I have very fond memories of joining Pat and my sister Dawn attending weekend stock car races at Raceway Park in Illinois.
Jim and David, my family extends our deepest sympathies. Please take comfort knowing we will always remember Pat in our daily thoughts and prayers.

Pat was a person of kind heart that touched us in her stay at Amazing St. George AFH. She was full of smiles that brightened her room whenever we enter to check on her and provide the care and love she needed. She was strong and very optimistic of her life. She always appreciated our support. She will be missed. As we say goodbye today, She will always be remembered, and her memories will be with us all the time. We pray to God to send his strength to her family members and friends.
