Obituary
Patricia Vasilj, nee LeTourneau, passed away on January 8th, 2025, after her body began to shut down due to Alzheimer’s disease and other ailments. She was 77 years old, preceded in death by her husband, Zdravko Vasilj, and survived by her son, James Vasilj, and his husband, David Nilsson.
She was born in Chicago in 1947 to Donald and Rosemary LeTourneau. Patricia attended Saint Xavier College in Chicago, earning a bachelor’s degree in education, later followed by a master’s degree. She taught at Maria High School and Lourdes High School in Chicago, and then later worked at the Chicago Law Bulletin.
She will be greatly missed by her son and son-in-law, along with other family and friends. She was very welcoming, always wanting to cook large meals for everyone. She also was a very caring individual, spending long stretches of her life taking care of others, including her mother, who also passed away from Alzheimer’s disease, her coworker and friend, Lorraine, and her husband as they aged together. James will never forget how special of a mother she was.
