Patty was born in Walnut Grove, Missouri, moved to California, and later to Washington. She lived in Renton with her parents and 3 sisters for most of her childhood, and graduated from Renton High School in 1953. She met Denny and they were married in 1955. Early on, Patty went to Beauty school and worked in the health care field. After having daughters, Julie and Sandy, she was a stay at home mom and involved in the girls grade school classes, and as an assistant CampFire leader. When the girls were in middle school, she took a part time job at King County Directors Association. That transitioned into full time where she continued to work several positions including buyer and office manager, then retired after 28 years. She continued to stay in touch with co-workers until her passing.
