February 26, 1947 - October 18, 2018
Paul Joseph Madden of SeaTac, WA passed away at the age of 71 on October 18, 2018 at the Highline Medical Center in Burien.
He was born on February 26, 1947 in Portland, Oregon to Kenneth and Helen Madden.
Paul is survived by his wife, Anchalee Madden; sons Patrick and Peter Madden and daughters Carol and Sarah Madden.

Dear Madden Family,
We are very sorry for the loss of Paul. I remember working at the movie theater in my teens and Paul would always come in with Katie and Carol to see movies 🙂 He was a very nice man. Our thoughts are with you all at this difficult time.

I’m Paul’s older sister by only one year and four months. Another guest mentioned Paul frequenting the local movie theater. Paul and I were great movie buffs. The fact that Portland didn’t have any TV stations until some time in the early 1950’s, had something to do with our parents going out to the movies regularly and taking us along. For Paul and me movies were a big deal. I remember Paul drawing cartoons on a long, thin strip of paper and us trying to project the images through an old hand-crack projector and using a regular light bulb. No doubt we failed. Much later, as an adult Paul told me he sent movie ideas to Johnny Carson, who, apparently, was thinking of getting into producing. Nothing came of that either. I don;t think Carson ever pursued that avenue. In the last decades, Paul would email me his critiques of the new movies he saw each week.
I could go on with stories of our early creative and adventurous childhood.
To the Paul Madden family: my wife and I pass on our thoughts and sympathy to you for the loss of Paul. He was a wonderful person, and so creative and intelligent. I was impressed that he took time to do a long day trip to my parent’s funeral in Portland. His aunt and uncle (my parents) meant a lot to him. Also, will miss his precise wit in letters, and his smile.

Paul was a good coworker to have worked with. In addition to his having in-depth knowledge of the immediate contractor, he kept up with changes, advances, and contractual activity in the industry, and was always a good source of information, even on engineering aspects of aircraft and things connected with aviation. And, his stories of contractual experience in other countries were interesting and educational. May his soul rest in peace.
We were each others closest playmates in our early years. We had so much fun. I was 1 year and for months older than Paul. We were also on somewhat close contact in later years, even though he lived in Seattle and I in Portland. Needless to say I miss him and am grateful I was able to tell him that in person at his hospital bed just a couple of hours before he died.
