Obituary
Paula Y Brown went to be with her Lord on July 6. She was at her home in Peoria, AZ with her husband of 56 years, Stephen Brown Sr by her side. Paula was born in Greenville, NC to Pauline Lelon Todd and William Barber. Paula is survived by her devoted husband, Stephen; beloved children: Stephen Kathy Brown Jr and Lynda Joe Garitone; treasured grandchildren: Heath, Bret, Shawn, Nathan Jessica, Cory, Mariah, Jared and Chase; precious great-grandchildren: Brooklynn and Marcus; caring brothers and sisters-in-law: Leon Peggy Barber and Charles Debbie Todd; along with many other friends and family who were blessed to know her.
Paula earned her degree from Central WA University and taught at White Center Elementary and Highline Community College. She loved meeting new people and sharing interests and enjoyed being a member of Christian Women’s Club, the Red Hat Society, and many writing clubs, book clubs, and other faith-based clubs and groups. She was a member of St Lukes Lutheran Church in Federal Way, WA and a regular attendee at the Congregational Church of Sun City in AZ. Paula will be remembered for her love of learning and reading, but most of all her love for her family and for her unyielding faith she was always so willing to share with others.
Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Paula’s life on Thursday, July 21 at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial Park Seatac, WA. Viewing at 12:30pm and service at 1:00pm. The family strongly suggests donations be made to either St Lukes Lutheran Church in Federal Way, WA or to the wonderful people at Hospice of the Valley in Peoria, AZ, who gave such wonderful care to Paula.
Paula was a straight shooter with a love for people and love for her Lord. We will miss her passion, loyalty and smile. She was a great encourager to me. And a great light in this world of Jesus.
