Pete Apilado Pascua Jr., 67, passed away peacefully at Highline Community Hospital, on Thursday, October 15, 2015 in Burien, WA at the age of 67.
Pete loved his family, close friends, old cars, listening to the oldies, cooking, and collecting memorabilia. His favorite passion –watching sports. He enjoyed every moment when his children competed in school. And it didn’t matter what sport it was on TV – he loved to watch it! His favorite sport is football. The SEATTLE SEAHAWKS is his favorite team.
Pete and his wife Joseline were active members at the Filipino Community Center in Seattle. Pete volunteered for the FCC’s financial treasurer for the Santa Maria Organization.
He is survived by his current wife Joseline M. Pascua of the Philippines, first wife of 24 years Teresita Tonel of the Philippines, daughter Angela Garcia and her husband Victor of Toppenish, son Nathan Pascua of Auburn, Sister Prescilla Pascua LaHann and her husband Tom of Fairfax-VA, two nephews – Mathew and Daniel LaHann, and grandchildren Isa, Tasi Maia, and Dante Garcia.
Pete was born June 13, 1948 in Ilocos Sur, Santa Maria, Philippines and was the oldest of two children to his parents Pete Sr. and Marcela Pascua. He had graduated from Lakes High School, Tacoma WA in 1966. After graduation, Pete had served in the U.S. Air Force 1967-1971. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant at Hickam AFB, Hawaii. He stayed in Hawaii for several years. During that time, he went to University of Hawaii-Kapilonani Community college and earned a degree of Associates in Science Merchandising Mid-Management. After, continued to lived in Hawaii and work for Travelers Insurance Company in Oahu. He moved back to the mainland, Tacoma WA 1974. In 1975, he met his first wife, Teresita Tonel at the Filipino Community Center in Seattle, and they got married 1976. Pete worked for Boeing Aerospace as a Procurement Buyer from 1976-1991. They had two children and resided in Auburn from 1977 to 2000. After his divorced in 2000, Pete had moved to Burien, WA. In 2012, he found love again and met Joseline Mercado. They married in 2013 in the Philippines.
Family and friends are invited to the blessing of his cremated remains at St. Vincent de Paul Parish Church in Federal Way on Thursday, October 22, 2015. The mass begins 7pm in the Chapel.
Private burial will be on Friday morning, with immediate family only at Tahoma National Cementery.
We love you all and are sending prayers up to Uncle Pete in heaven. He was a sweet man and will be missed.
