Peter Michael Gray

Obituary

Peter M. Gray April 12, 1941 – July 24, 2010.
One of our native Washingtonians left this world with his loving wife by his side. After fighting multiple myeloma for 13 years and being in remission, pancreatic cancer took him from us very quickly.
He fished every corner of this great state and hooked everyone’s heart he met. He was the ultimate outdoorsman and traveled with his wife Kris to all the lakes and rivers he could find. He would catch the salmon at Westport and Kris would can it, smoke it or barbeque it!
You could find them around a campfire every fall waiting for hunting season to open. In the early years, venison stew was a staple in the household and of course goose feathers were seen floating around the back yard. He trained black labs that were his constant hunting buddies for many years.
He is pre-deceased by his parents Herman L. ‘Pete’ and Ruth Foisie Gray and son Kenny. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 29 years, Kristi; his sister Ginger Gray and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many who were so lucky to have known and loved him. Sleep well, Pete, we love you.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 2:00 pm at BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd., SeaTac, WA. 206 242-1787. The family prefers contributions be made to American Cancer Society, Pancreatic Cancer Research and/or Breast Cancer Research.

I can still remember Pete chasing Ginger and I up the stairs at your house when we were in 8th grade or so. Sleep well. Jackie Ford

Pete and I worked together at Sound Oil for 31 years. We started as drivers but apparently didn’t deliver enough heating oil, so management made us salesmen. Pete put his heart and soul into his job, and when he left in 1998, he also left a big hole in our sales department both as an employee and a friend. We shared a lot of good times and laughs. I’ll never forget fresh oysters from Brady’s in exchange for adult beverage transportation from Reno, once again fun and laughs. I saw Pete the happiest after he met Kris. They shared over thirty years together enjoying life and each other. In recent years Pete had a very big challenge and fought hard and never complained. He will be missed.

Kris,

We’ll always have fond memories of Pete and the life you shared with him. We’ll especially miss his jokes and pleasant way about him. Pete lived a great life with you. Maybe someday we’ll all be residing in New England so we can see more of each other. Love always, Doug and Heather

We missed you guys at the lake this year and fishing won’t be the same without Pete in his boat and you on the walkie-talkie keeping track of us. So sorry for your loss. Pete was one of a kind!!

I won’t be able to look out my window without waiting for his garage door to open. So many memories will crop up everytime I look accross the street. You can’t live accross the street from someone for 40 years and not become part of the family. It’s not going to be the same but kind of like Bob Hope said “Thanks For The Memories” Pete. Hug your Mom for me.

Pete’s love of Kris was so complete it spread to each of their friends. They would do anything for anyboby and not ask for anything in return except to come to their house for a delicious dinner displayed better than any top restraunt and he never shared road kill – only the best from the best. I love you and will miss you.

Ginger, Gentle thoughts are with you. At times like this words seem so powerless to express the heartfelt sympathy conveyed to you today.
