Obituary
Peter Povick, age 79, died peacefully of cancer on August 8th, 2008 at the Evergreen Hospice in Kirkland. Born June 28, 1929 in Sumner, WA. He leaves his wife, Mary of 55 years; daughter, Sherry Starkel Woody; son Gregg ; daughter-in-law, Edie Bart; grandchildren, Derek, Erik, Bryan Amy, Nickolas, Joshua, Eric, Shelly Aaron, Lisa Jody,; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Hailey, Jayden, Camren, Katelyn; brothers, George Carol, Jerry Barb and sister, Polly. He was preceded in death by his sons, Peter Michael and Harold and sister Helen Hazel. So many happy memories with his family and friends include going to the Washington/Oregon coast, flying his kite and later, he added gambling too. He enjoyed his beautiful flowers and gardening. He worked for the City of Seattle for 35 years. There will be a celebration of his life at the Evergreen Hospice, 12822 – 124th Lane NE, Kirkland, WA 98034 on Wednesday, August 20th, 2008 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, send donations to your favorite charity. ‘Pete, I loved you much. Fly high and don’t get tangled with your kite strings!’ Mary.

Mary, we have lost touch and I haven’t been able to find you in the phone book. I know this is a rough time for you but when you have time send me an e-mail. Tell Bonney Watson that I give them permission to give you my e-mail address. Looking forward to hearing from you.
I’m so sorry to hear about Pete. We worked together at the City of Seattle. He taught me a lot and kept a sense of humer while doing so. It was a pleasure to know him. Good Bye Pete.
Uncle Pete was always so full of life. He enjoyed joking around and always made my family laugh. I will never forget him and can still his voice calling me Kenneth. I know Pete and Helen are up there talking away! He will missed by all.
I knew Peter,Polly & Hazel when we all lived on Beacon Hill back in the 1940s.What memories! My sister Marilyn & I had so much fun with the Povick family.
