Phil Kashmark 47 ended his lifetime battle with Diabetes and its complications peacefully in his home in Seattle on Saturday, May 16. He deeply touched the lives of everyone he came in contact with, was an advocate for those unable to speak for themselves, and was recognized for his generosity and compassion.
He spent his lifetime in Seattle, attending St. Catherine’s and Roosevelt High. Spending his last years being an important part of his apartment community in Belltown, where he made the safety and happiness of his neighbors a priority.
His constant positive attitude has helped us all get through our life’s little obstacles, when he had so many more in his. He will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 23rd at Wiggen and Sons Funeral Home in Ballard. Service is at 11am, with viewing starting at 10am.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to the American Diabetes Assoc. in Phil’s name or register to become an organ donor.
No matter how stupid my thoughts were, Phil always made me feel important. He was my little brother, but always stronger than me. Always so positive, saying ‘don’t worry about it’ I will truelly miss him, but will carry his memory with me forever.
I will always remember Phil for his up-beat, positive and humorous personality. He was a geniune friend to all who had the good fortune of knowing him. Although I hadn’t seen him in quite some time, he was a dear friend who will have a place in my heart forever. He will be missed by all, and I pray for his family and friends, that they may find comfort and peace knowing he has found eternal peace.
I remember your class the class of a president, your patience the patience of the clergy, honesty of a judge, compassion of a man of God, a piano player, a love of life, your passion for cooking, thank you for being my friend Phil. I miss you now and I’m sure I will miss you more in the future. I know your probably in a hurry to be gone so thank you, thank you for being my friend, god speed.
