Obituary
Phillis A Decker, “Aunt Phil” passed away March 13, 2017 at age 99 after a short illness. She lived a full and happy life, active until the end. Independent, spunky, energetic, feisty and social. A life well lived!
Born in Boulder MT in 1917 to Emma and Antonio Franchi, she grew up on a ranch with her sister Mary and brothers John and Jim. She was very proud of her Italian heritage.
Phil moved to Seattle during the war and married Arthur Decker in 1942.
She had a long career as an Executive Secretary at GE. After retirement, she and Art became avid golfers, a sport she enjoyed until she was 86. After Art passed away in 1985, she stayed very busy with golf, bridge, travel, friends and family. A fine gardener, her home was her pride and joy.
Phil was a wonderful aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Generous, patient and kind. She loved her neighbors and her new friends at Ida Culver.
She leaves behind her nieces, Toni, Kim, Gail and Jody, her best “date” Doug, grand nieces and nephews Kirsten, Tiffany, Billy, Tara, Jake and Cody, and numerous great nieces and nephews, great friends and neighbors.

We lived across the street from Phyllis for many years in Magnolia. .We had many conversations out in the yard. I made sure we stayed in touch when we moved to Mill Creek and Woodinville and had her to lunch several times with old Magnolia neighbors. We also got together twice a year to celebrate birthdays. I will miss her a lot. She seemed to do everything right to live to such a great age. I hope I can live a long life the same way she did. It was a pleasure to have known her!
