Prathana “Johnny” Nammavong,”Ean” to his family, of Des Moines, Washington, passed away January 2017 in Chehalis, Washington from a fishing accident. Born March 1, 1973 in Savannakhet, Laos, Johnny briefly resided in Thailand, and in the Philippines, before coming to the United States.
Johnny initially moved to Amarillo, Texas with his family in 1982, before moving to Fresno, California in 1985, where he attended Fresno High School. He also lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before moving to Washington State, where he lived most of his adult life, employed as a professional welder.
Johnny is preceded in death by his mother, Nang Phothisanh, who passed on in 1997, and his oldest sister, Veota Nammavong, who passed on in 2015. He is survived by his father: Phom Nammavong, brother: Kavy Nammavong; sisters: Rathtana Nammavong, Moukda Nammavong, Myna Nammavong; and Johnny’s only Son, Nathan Nammavong.
