Obituary
Anita Busek
Anita Busek was 82 when she passed on August 10th in her home in SeaTac. She was born on October 31st, 1927 to William and Johanna Busek in Chehalis, and was the youngest sister of Katherine Boyd, Emily Lucier, Joseph Busek, and Agnes Brenneis, all of whom preceded her in death.
She attended St Joseph’s School in Chehalis, and Chehalis High School from which she graduated in 1946.
At Washington State College now WSU she pursued her interests in drama, appearing in many campus productions and on campus radio, and graduated in 1949 with a degree in Speech and Communications. After college she continued her work in radio at several stations, and was the program manager of KBLE-FM in Seattle for a number of years. She also worked in early Seattle television at KCTS and KOMO where she was the evening news ‘weather girl’, sharing broadcast duties with fellow WSC alum Keith Jackson.
In addition to her work in radio and television, she had a life-long interest in antiques and collectibles. She started traveling to antique shows and flea markets, and her hobby of 35 years eventually lead her into the business of being a dealer. She especially loved Depression glass but also had a keen interest in furniture, stamps, and coins. Her continued fondness for WSU led her to establish scholarships for W.F. West Chehalis High School students in her own name, and also that of her mother and her sister Agnes.
She is survived by eight nieces and nephews, seven grand nieces and nephews, several cousins, and her beloved dog.
A graveside gathering of family and friends at interment will be held at the Claquato Cemetery in Chehalis, Washington at noon, Thursday Aug. 19th.
In lieu of flowers, she asked that remembrances be in the form of donations to the scholarship in her name sent to WSU Foundation: P.O. Box 641925, Pullman, WA 99164-1925.

She wore a purple felt hat to the dog park Grandview. Was always ready with something to share about antiques or dogs and quick to smile. I enjoyed her presence there and she always had something profound or interesting to tell me. I miss her and will always remember how colorful and outgoing she was. I love you Anita!
Anita,
You will be forever in my thoughts and prayers fellow Scorpio. Halloween will always hold a special place in my heart.
Rest peacefully my old friend.
We have many fond memories of Anita during our “collecting” days together. She loved the search as much as we did. We are sorry, but we will be unable to attend the graveside gathering of friends and family. Our hearts go out to all the family members.

Liebe Tante Anita,
In stillem Gedenken
Deine Großcousine
