Obituary
Ray Rosatto
Ray was born on July 23, 1921 and died January 16, 2012. He was 90 years old when he passed away. Ray and his parents and brother lived in the Duwamish area for several years before they moved into their home in south Seattle. Ray graduated from Cleveland High School and worked several years in the truck gardens before joining the Air Force. After he left the military in 1943 he married Bette Prest on October 4, 1947. Ray went to work for Nick Raffo Garbage Co. He bought a share of the company in 1954. Eventually his too close friends Fred Terrile, and Bill Segale bought the other shares of Nick Raffo. The three friends expanded their business to include Nick Raffo Garbage, Federal Way Disposal, RST Disposal, and Tri Star Disposal.
Ray is survived by his wife Bette, daughter Raejean and husband Bruce, son Rod, and three grandchildren; Alia, Tom, and Estelle. Ray’s family and friends were of utmost importance to him. He and Bette belonged to The Renton Son’s of Italy for years, and were committed to the Italian community in the Burien area.
A Rosary for Ray will be held Friday, January 20th at 7:00pm and Funeral Mass Saturday, January 21st at 11:00am all at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Tukwila. A graveside service will follow at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial Park. Donations may be given to MEOW Cat Rescue, PO Box 58, Kirkland, WA. 98083, and Highline Hospital.
