I have fond memories of Ray, and his wife Alice. Ray was always friendly and helpful whenever we interacted, both when I was a young kid and the times we saw each other as adults. Ray and Alice were part of a group of wonderful parents that made it special to grow up in Des Moines Terrace. They also raised four wonderful children. My parents also thought the world of Ray and Alice and enjoyed their many get togethers.
Ray was a very congenial and likable fellow. He will always be with us.
I have some great memories of Ray working at the AFPRO. His passing leaves a big void in a lot of lives.
The AFPRO was a good place to work. Ray will be missed.
He was a wonderful man to have had in our AFPRO office life.
I have so many fond memories of Ray and Alice. We had a terrific neighborhood growing up, with all of the parents involved with us kids. We are losing them one by one, but the memories will last forever. I appreciate all that Ray and Alice did for both dad and mom during their last years.
To all the Vandervelden’s; you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
I just learned of Ray’s passing. I am so sorry for the family’s loss. My sincere condolences.
Bill and I just heard from Michael Watkins and were so sorry for the pain of you losing Ray.
We have tried several times to see if we could find you to no avail and it seems like you may just have been near us all along.
May the memories you hold dear of Ray help ease your pain.
Prayers for all!
Love,
Bill & Sharon Downey
