He is survived by his wife Elsie, brother Richard Nielsen and sister Margaret Nielsen, children Janice Daniels David, Stephen Nielsen Patricia, and Carol Nielsen Borgomainerio Scott, four grandchildren, and one great-grandson. He was known for his quick wit and sunny disposition. He was loyal to family and friends. A viewing will be held Sunday, August 28th from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service Monday, August 29th at 1:00 p.m. both at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd, SeaTac, WA 98188. The family requests that donations be made to Evergreen Hospice, 12040 NE 128th St. M.S. #5, Kirkland, WA 98034.
We will always remember Ray’s smiling face and wonderful sense of humor. He
was a good member of the Renton Lodge Order Sons of Italy in America. We could always count on Ray to order the butter for our annual spaghetti dinner. He will be missed by many of us. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family.

Today a great patriarch in the Nielsen family goes on to ‘Valhalla’. I loved Ray, he was truly a great man. To my knowledge, there are only 2 left from the descendants of the Danish brothers that migrated here from Denmark; Ray’s brother Richard Nielsen, and my dad Carl Nielsen. Blessings to you all.
