I met Ray and Carol in 1987, and I always hurried to help them when they needed me. Ray was one of the nicest, most gracious people, that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

Dear Family of Ray

It has been at least 35 years since we were all together. You were a huge factor in the lives of our family while we were living in Dryden. The our boys thought of you as their adopted Uncle Ray. You gave Timothy faith in himself as a person when you hired him to work in the Dryden Cafe. Thank you so much. You are and were a wonderful friend. God Bless your family. You will be sadly missed but the good memories ……………….

of your love and life will sustain all.

I pray you find comfort in your wonderful memories. Ray was a wonderful man. He and Carol so complimented each other. Please give Carol a big hug from me. I remember when he came to our house and was outside doing something and Jamie was so worried about him getting too hot so took him something to drink – he so got a kick out of that little girl being worried about him. God Bless.

There are so many wonderful memories, the camping, fishing, and many karaoke nights that we all enjoyed together. The warm fuzzes that we all have when we know what a wonderful time that you and Mom shared. The wonderful meals that you and Mom would put out for us and especially those very special omlets that you would make for everyone. The last 35 years you have treated us like your own and we love you for that. We appreciate Lisa, Lori, Renee, and Robbie for sharing you with us. My kids and grandkids will never forget all the wonderful times they have had at Grandpa Ray’s. They are precious memories that no one will ever forget. We love you Ray and will miss you, but we know that you are at peace and will always be looking over us.

Carol and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I know that he will be missed by all of you. He was a very kind and compassionate man. He saw the good in everyone. I still remember our cruise to Vancouver, B.C. We had a lot of fun.

My sincere condolences to you all.

Grandpa Ray, there is a BIG empty place in my heart that I plan to fill with all of the memories I have and as I am reminded of all that the others have shared. I envy the way you cherished Grandma and the grandparent you were to me and my children. They wanted to take every vacation to Seattle so that they could spend time with you and Grandma. I miss you so much and am encouraged to know that we have a very special guardian angel watching over us all. We love you!!!

Grandpa Ray, it was a privledge to fish with you, LET you beat me in skip boo, mix you a nite cap, but just simply have met you. I enjoyed the times we spent in Seattle and in ND. We always loved to stay at Grandpa Rays. The laughs, the family bonding, the singing even though Nick and Dwayne couldnt sing you made them feel at home as you did for all. As I sign out for a dear friend who will be missed. RWN out 2012

I loved my cousin Ray. He lived with us for a year when he was 5 yrs old. As teenagers, we were good friends and had a lot of fun together. We loved to dance together. As adults, we did not get to see one another often, but he always was in my heart.

Goodbye for awhile cousin Ray. I know you are in a good place now. I was just mentally reviewing our infrequent times together during the last 75 years. Man, there were some really great times with you, your brothers and sister.

The only time I was ever fired from a job was with you. We both got run off. We were about 15 and went to work picking apricots. We were very ticked off because your parents and siblings were having a blast at Lake Chelan. Needless to say, angry young boys don’t do much work. The boss fired us.

I treasure all of our memories Ray. Rest in Peace.

Love to you and to your family that you left behind.

Love Always………Jack Smith
