What a wonderful man and what a wonderful family he leaves as his legacy. I lit a candle in church this morning praying that God will give you strength, comfort and peace in the days ahead.
He was more than just a father in law to me. He was my dad and my best friend. We’ve shared a lot of laughs over the years, and always enjoyed each others company. I will miss him so much. He was a great man to look up. Everyone should be more like him. Lord knows I’m trying. His grand kids will always know what a wonderful grandpa they had. We’ll miss him always.

We always remember both Patty and Rick for all the fun times we had when our children were young. May God’s blessing be on all of you in this most difficult time.
I worked with Rick several years, in the 65 Bldg, and at Plant II and in the SMC when he returned to Auburn. Rick was an excellent Tool Maker, easy to get along with, really a nice person. I’m sorry to hear that he passed, my condolences to the family.

Dear Patty & family,
My heart hurts for you and your family. Rick was such a wonderful guy. I feel so blessed to have been able to work by him for the last 4 years. The first few times I saw him at work I would picture him as a young boy coming over to our house to birthday parties for LaDonna and Danny. It was always so fun to talk with him and hear about the fun things you were doing with your family. He was always so great to share experiences, ideas and websites of the places you guys went… I will miss him when his crew comes up to the blockhouse for their meetings, and when I pass by the desk he would be sitting at when I came in to work or went to get the mail…
God bless and comfort you!

Rick was my oldest brother in many ways. As I was growing up, I meet a boy name Rick and he was always there. We played and grew up on the same street together. Days of fly-up Frisbee, football, baseball, building forts and the swamp. We got in trouble together for ideas that seem like a good one at the time. We worked on cars, race them and share days that were only ended by night. We double dated, partied and still got into trouble. We shared a life together growing up and even though we had drifted apart over the years we have always stayed in touch with each other. You will be missed my friend. Gary, Belen, Christopher, Brandon.
Dear Patty and girls,
Rick was my friend, I will always remember him. Rick was a class guy, he set an example of character that everyone admired. I feel very honored and proud to say he and I were good friends. We talked about many different topics throughout our workday. We laughed together and talked about our home projects that we were doing. We both loved to talk about our families He was so proud of his Grand babies. We even went to get our flu shots together. He made my days at work so enjoyable I looked forward to come to work. I love and will miss my freind Rick Wake.
Sincerly

I met Rick once at my wedding. My husband Gary Pfitzner was an old childhood friend and even though I didn’t know Rick very well I always felt I knew him personally because of all the stories that Gary used to tell me. He will be miss by all his friends especially Gary who he cared so much about him. Our prayers are with all his family.
