Obituary
Richard Quealey, 65, our beloved brother and special friend to many, passed away from natural causes on August 15, 2011 in Tukwila, WA. Richard was born March 10, 1946 in Seattle, WA to Lounettie and Oris Quealey and was the last of 13 children. He is survived by three brothers and three sisters.
He worked for the Salle family at Bernie & Boys for 47 years and recently retired. He was well known in the Tukwila area for riding his bike everywhere and shopping at Southcenter and Costco.
Richard loved the Mariners and was a devoted fan. He knew everyone from the ushers to the announcers at Safeco Field.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., SeaTac Community Center, 13735 24th Ave. South.
My sister, Dianne, and I attended Southgate Elementary School with Richard and some of his siblings. Our Grandpa Jim was Oris’s brother. I recall very little about those days, but do remember encountering Richard when we were playing in the area of the school. He appeared to be a happy kid … he is enough younger that I didn’t play directly with him. I wish we could have known our cousins more closely. When our dad Jim Jr. and mom remarried we moved to Burien at Seahurst and lost pretty much all connection with Riverton, except for visits with Grandma and Grandpa Quealey until they moved to hmmm… was it West Seattle or White Center??
I am sorry to hear of Richard’s passing. Loving condolences to all Richard’s Dear Ones.
