Obituary

Richard W. Valentine, a long time Burien resident, passed away on January 10, 2009. Rick was part of a large Wynooche Valley family of six brothers and six sisters. He was a teacher and elementary principal in the Highline Schools from 1950-1977. After his
‘retirement’ he continued working in education for the UW and the South Central S.D.
Rick is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, daughters, Judy Tom Grainger and Cheri Bob Davis, son Rick Maureen and 4 grandchildren, Lisa, Brian, Greg and Brad. There will be no public services at his request. Remembrances in Rick’s name may be made to: SeaTac Kidney Center, 17900 International Blvd S. I was very saddened to learn of Mr. Valentine’s passing. He was my Principal at Marvista Elementary School in Normandy Park during the years of 1965 thru 1972. He was a gentle, kind and wonderful man who will be truly missed by all.

Mary Lou and Family,

Marry Lou; was sorry to read of Dicks passing.He was some one to be proud of with what he had acclomplished whith his life comming from a small town and humble farm life. thinking of you in our prayers

Mr. Valentine was a wonderful man. He was my principal at McMicken Heights Elementary School. He helped me through some very hard times and I appreciated his support more than he could ever know.

He will be missed!!
