Rita CREIGHTON Lifetime advocate for children, Rita died unexpectedly at home March 16, 2008. Long time resident of Normandy Park, WA. Rita will be missed by everyone whose life that she has touched. Born in Miami, OK on Sept. 10, 1949 to Mary and Stan Sr. Trask. Rita moved to Normandy Park in 1952 and graduated from Mount Rainier High School in 1967. She had a career at Boeing and with King County International Airport as the Community Relations and Aviation Education Program Manager. She was active in PTA at a local and regional level, serving as President of the WA state PTA and on the National Board of Directors. She was active with Communities in Schools and Youth Fair Chance. Continuing her passion for public education, Rita was a pioneer of Aviation High School and actively worked to see the school built. Rita was also appointed by Gov. Gregoire to the Highline Community College Board of Trustees. Though she dedicated much of her life to helping others, her husband Stuart, and children Jeff and Courtney Scott Chaffee were the center of her life. She leaves them behind, as well as Brother Stan Jr. Billi, Michael Faith, Richard Sandi, and many nieces and nephews. Rita’s life was a full one; always working harder to makes someone’s life better. A Celebration of her life will be held Friday March 21, at the Normandy Park Community Club, the Cove at 2pm. In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation to one of Rita’s Passions.
