Obituary

Robert (Bud) Clarence Winders 11/26/1929 – 11/03/2011

Bud passed on at Harborview Medical Center 11/03/2011, just a couple weeks short of his 82nd birthday.

Born to Leo and Lenna Winders in California in 1929, his early childhood was spent near Detroit. Later Bud graduated from Renton High School and the University of Washington. He married his best friend and lifelong partner, Bernice, and spent his career years as an engineer at Boeing while fathering two children, Dennis and Suzan.

As a young father, Bud felt it would best to join the local church for help in the spiritual nourishment of his family. He and Bernice became members of John Knox Presbyterian Church. He faithfully attended and served for nearly fifty years.

Bud perceived his duties and conscientiously rose to answer. Faithful to his wife, he served his church in many ways and his community as precinct committee man several times. He also traveled to Honduras and befriended many there in service to Jesus and he quietly backed up his children, grandchildren and all those that belonged to them whenever the need arose. He will be sorely missed.

Bud is survived by his two children, Robert D. Winders and Suzan Winders-Barrett and her husband John; three loving grandchildren, Jacob Winders, Elizabeth Winders and Christian Barrett; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

John Knox Presbyterian Church will host a celebration of his life on Saturday, 11/12/2011, 2 PM at 109 SW Normandy Road, Seattle WA 98166. Bud would have appreciated donations in lieu of flowers sent to Amigos De Honduras, PO Box 98293, Seattle WA 98198-0293
