Bob was more than just a friend to me; he was someone I deeply cherished and felt privileged to have shared countless memories with. From our days working on the El Camino and tackling tough tasks around the house, to simply enjoying each other’s company by the Christmas tree with a glass of Rum-Nogg or witnessing breathtaking sunsets at Haystack while exploring Cannon Beach, every moment was special. What made it even more remarkable was that while we were busy creating our own memories, Bob was always eager to share his own. Whether it was his thrilling racing days, his experiences at Boeing, his passion for cars, his tales about Seattle’s transformation, his adventures around the world, or even his dreams of reliving his youth, his eyes would light up as he recounted these stories, as if they were the most cherished chapters of his life. Losing such an incredible friend is going to leave a void in my heart, but I am grateful that despite my move away from Tukwilla over a decade ago, we managed to stay connected and visit each other whenever possible.
