MY OLD MAN

My old man was strong and gentle and kind. He carried himself with dignity, something that’s hard to find. He taught me things and showed me ways to carry out my role. He gave me words and honed my mind that I could reach my goal. I owe him much in words and deed that I cannot repay. Time was short. Days went by just a short delay. My old man is gone now. My words ring off the walls. He can no longer hear me, my questions or my calls. Life is short and love is long, so I say to you my friend: Listen, seek and understand. It doesn’t hurt to bend. Listen to the words of wisdom. Take it to you heart. For once they choose to leave you, it is forever you’re apart.

Love, Heather and Scott
