Robert Rex Saxton
Robert R. Saxton passed away peacefully in his home on Oct. 23rd at the age of 89. He was born to William and Kathleen Saxton on Oct 21, 1921 in Declo, Idaho.
He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and served 2 tours of duty in the South Pacific and Phillipines, earning the rank of chief at the age of 23. After discharge he attended Utah State University, graduating with a degree in Electronic Engineering. He met and married Mary Lou Robinson in 1948. In 1954 he moved his young family to Seattle and went on to complete a successful 30 year career with the Boeing Co.
He was a devoted, active member of his LDS church. He served many years as a Scout Master. He spent a long retirement wintering in Arizona creating silver & opal jewelry. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Lou, daughters Kathy Andy, Anne, and son Doug Brenda. Predeceased by daughter Ruth. He will be missed by 6 grandchildren Andrea, Chris Alison, Leah Eddie, Mitch, Courtney and Hannah, 4 great grandchildren, Natasha, Olivia, Miles and Amelia.
At Robert’s request there will be no funeral.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery Nov 3, 11:00 a.m.
