Robert “Rob” Floyd Pittman
Robert “Rob” Floyd Pittman was born on May 20th, 1960 in Roseburg, Oregon. At a young age, his family relocated to the Eugene OR area and then later to the community of Camp Creek (rural Springfield), where he attended Camp Creek Elementary, Briggs Jr High and then graduated from Thurston Sr High. He attended the Arizona Institute of Technology where he received his diploma in Architecture & Design. He returned to Springfield and married his wife, Tracy Pittman on May 17, 1980. They owned and operated a Security & Maintenance business for 10 years, mainly providing services at The Springfield Mall. He became involved in the management end of shopping centers and eventually accepted a job in Walla Walla WA, at the Blue Mountain Mall as General Manager. He was transferred to Woodland CA to manage County Fair Mall and then to the Foothills Fashion Mall in Fort Collins CO. He then relocated back to the Northwest the Seattle area where he managed Alderwood Mall until he began working for Madison Marquette managing several properties and eventually going into the acquisitions and development side.
Rob passed away unexpectedly September 7, of heart failure. He is survived by his wife Tracy A. Pittman, two daughters, Whitney Marie Pittman and Kaitlyn Jean Pittman, both located in the Seattle area. Also, his mother-in-law, 3 sister-in-law’s, 4 brother-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Gerad Elijah Pittman.
Rob lived for his girls and enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially if it involved the checking out shopping centers (not shopping). He was also a big fan of the Seattle Seahawks and the Seattle Mariners and loved attending the games with friends and family. Rob was known for his sense of humor and kind heartedness and will truly be missed by many…

There are two separate services planned for Rob. Next Wednesday, September 14, @ 7:00 PM a funeral service will be held at Bonney-Watson Funeral Home in Seattle (Capitol Hill).
Saturday, September 17, @ 11:00 AM, there will be a memorial service held at Andreason’s Funeral Home in Springfield, OR. You’re welcome to attend either or both. Donations can be made to Emmanuel Children’s Hospital – NICU (Portland) in his name. Thank you again…..

I had the pleasure of working with your Rob and wanted to reach out. You three were the lights of his life. He spoke of you all so often and always with a big smile and with pride.
Rob will be greatly missed by our team. He was such a hard working man who had a passion for our RE business.
When I think of Rob, these words come to mind: loyal, funny, strong, smart, tough, interested and a family man.

My name is Troy Cain. I own a Maintenance Company that does a lot of work for your Dad and Husband. I wanted you to know that your Dad was my Mentor and my Friend. He taught me really how to run a company. One winter we had a foot of snow on the ground in Issaquah and I had all my crews there removing snow. I looked over and who is there?with a shovel ?Rob Pittman. Never afraid to work and always answered my after hours calls. I would tell him he was my counselor. My business survived because of your Dad / Husband. He was a great Person. He hired and surrounded himself with Great People and that’s just how he was. He would always say the front yard should be as clean as the backyard. I wish I could have spent more time with him and you are all so lucky you got to call him Dad / Husband / Uncle. My first real job was working for Rob as a security officer at The Blue Mountain Mall in Walla Walla in the early 90’s. Without a doubt, my 3 years working there continues to be a great source of profound nostalgia. I truly consider my time there as one of the best and enjoyable times of my life, period. Rob brought out the best in me, something I was missing from my personal upbringing. I guess what I’m trying to say is that Rob wasn’t just my boss, and despite the fact that he was only 10 years my senior, he became a sort of father figure for me, which I hope I successfully conveyed to him. I just want to say THANK YOU, Rob. Your presence in my life will never be forgotten. I’m so sorry for your loss, Tracy, Whitney and Kaitlyn. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
So sorry for your loss Tracy, Whitney & Kaitlyn. Rob was a great guy and we have fond memories of him in the times we were together with him. We are not supposed to leave our loved ones behind at such a young age and that makes your loss even harder. You are all in our thoughts and we talk about your family every day.

Our hearts go out to you. I have worked with Tracy for several years at the Chateau Ste. Michelle concert series. Rob would show up at concerts and made it a point to say Hi to me. I would also look up into the stands at a Mariners game and see Tracy and Rob smiling and having fun with each other. I am proud to have known Rob, he was a kind and caring person. So sorry to hear about the loss of Rob, such a kind gentle man. When he was a security guard at Springfield Mall back in the 80’s he always made sure us Mall Girls got to our cars safe, this was at a time when Ted Bundy was on the loose. RIP in Rob, never to be forgotten. Prayers to your family.

David played softball with Rob (he was a heck of a pitcher!) and I’ve known Tracy for so many years…what an amazing couple. We love the entire family very much and Tracy, we are here for you, always. So sorry for our loss. Rob was a great guy. Always ready to help out when we needed him. He was funny and fun to be around. He’ll be remembered and missed.
We are crushed at the sudden loss of our friend. So many years passed after carving a snow trail down a wheat field here in Walla Walla. Sure Rob, we will sled the hill! We all crashed at the end. The kids screaming in laughter. Rob was forever a boy ready to play, whether it was baseball, softball and even dodge ball. We loved him. Our family hurts that he is no longer here to tease and play jokes with. Rob helped us build so many things from doors, patios, fences with Tracy. We felt we could do anything, he was knowledgeable about so much! So very sorry for your loss Tracy, Whitney and Kaitlyn. He loved you so!

What an amazing person and what a remarkable life. I feel so lucky that I got to know Rob and had the pleasure working with him for over 10 years.

Tracy, so sorry for your loss. Rob and I have been friends for over 25 years and worked together for several years at Madison Marquette. Rob was a true friend and a genuine person. He will be greatly missed. Sorry that I will not be able to attend the memorial service as I am out of state until late Saturday evening. All my best to you and your daughters. Tracy and girls –
So many fond memories of my days at the Foothills Fashion Mall involve Rob. I can vividly see his smile, hear his laugh and the sound of his voice “yelling” my name down the hallway of the management office. His voice had a pitch all its own. He brought light to our little group and always, always felt like a great force for good in the world.
Please know that I am standing next to you all during this difficult time and will continue to fondly remember the positive influence he had in my life.

So sorry to hear about Rob’s sudden passing. I will remember my one day power tour of Washington MMRS projects (in the rain, of course), and laughing ourselves silly as we punch walked Bay Street for the grand opening. Rob always had a kind spirit and a great sense of humor, and was a wonderful mentor to the people who worked for him. I hope your good memories will bring you a smile as you miss him.
