Obituary
Robert Saline Johnson was born December 16, 1913 and died peacefully December 19, 2007 at the age of 94 years. For ten years, he was a member of the Seattle Fire Department’s elite aid car crew and was regarded as one of the top instructors in the department. He was cited by the President of the United States for “Meritorious Personal Service on Behalf of the Nation, Armed Forces and All Suffering Humanity.” He retired from the fire department in 1967. He was also active with the Kent Fire Department in many capacities and was a Fire Commissioner for several years, instrumental in the building of new fire stations and obtaining the most up-dated equipment for Fire District #37.Robert is survived by his daughter, Phyllis Munson Harold; son, Robert Johnson Kristin; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson. Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Claudia in 2005. A memorial service will be held at the Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, 10056 Renton Ave. S, Seattle, WA on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 11:30 AM.
