He was best known for his genuine kindness and desire to help anyone who needed a hand. Everything from mowing many of his neighbors lawns with his prize riding lawn mower to fixing something in his garage that nobody else could. There was no job to difficult for him, he loved a challenge.
Ike started work for then Puckets which later became the Salmon Terminals in 1940. He continued to work for the same company for 47 years. He was a faithful union member of ILWU#37 later becoming ILWU #9 since 1944. He was also a member of Alaska Fishermans Union in 1952.
When not working he enjoyed racing pigeons in the late 50’s and early 60’s, car racing in the 50’s at the Aurora and Sea Tac racetracks. Ike along with his family and friends enjoyed many stories of great times; camping, fishing, hunting and motorcycle riding. Or just the many times having coffee at the family home. Everybody was always welcome at Ike’s house.

What can I say. I remember spending a lot of weekends at your house. Mary always snapping your suppenders, she probably just gave you a good snap. I know Jody will miss you very much and I will keep reminding her that you are up with Mary, your brothers and my Dad having a great time. Don’t worry about Jody, we will make sure she behaves. She is one tough cookie, just look at what she has had to deal with this last year. I greatly admire her for her strengh and caring.
No Worries

I will miss you very much. You were such a warm and caring man. I remember the times going over and visiting with you and laughing about all the good memories you shared with me about the family. I just want to say that I am very greatful for being a part of your family. You will be missed so much. There will not be a day that goes by that I will not think of you. You were such a strong man. We will miss you a bunch!
Jody, Denise & Family,
My fondest memories of your dad was when he along with my uncles, Carl,
& Fred were young kids. Not that much older than me but to them I was a pain. We had so much fun driving to Yakima with Aunt Babe,Uncle George, his brother Joe, & Aunt June. We would stay at my grandmother’s aunts house in Toppenish. His other brother Harold Feet and all the men in the family would go jackrabbit hunting. They let me go until I started shooting more than they did.
They swore I could shoot around corners. This was many many years ago but will always stick in my mind. Those were the good old days.
Love & Sincerity

I hope that he & my “Bob” are having a cup of coffee together.
I am truely sorry that such a wonderful man such as Ike passed away. And I am grateful that he as a part of my life. I remember the time that we traded cars and within a hour he drove past my house honking and with a different hat on each time. He was a kick in the pants and had a zest for life and family.
I am going to miss you grandpa thank you for all the good times that we shared and your endless support.
I miss you papa!
We will miss Ike dearly. We have many fond memories that we will hold onto forever. He really was the best.
We’re all going to miss you, Ike. From the stories of your younger days, to camping at Gold Bar. From attending your family functions, to just sittin’ in your front yard watching people drive by. Your kindness affected everyone around you. It was an honor to know you.
