Obituary

Roberta May Dickey was born December 3, 1942, in Spokane, Washington to Robert Melvin Dickey and Nellie Violet Dickey (Coolbaugh). Roberta joined her brother Melvin and sister Darlene.  In 1961 Roberta graduated Renton High School.  In 1962 her first son Joseph was born, her second son Michael came in 1964, and her youngest son Mark in 1967.  Roberta was very active and spent many days out walking.  She would walk nearly 3 miles each day for several decades, meeting and talking with anyone who would join her along her walks.  She enjoyed many things, but none more than her love of pigs. She had so many pig trinkets or porcelain pigs it just became ‘her thing.’  If you ever visited her home you wouldn’t miss her affection for them.

Roberta was baptized on October 30, 1979, an event she was very proud of performing. She lived her remaining years with a strong faith and devotion.

On April 22, 1996, Roberta married the love of her life, Robert Unser.  Bob and Bobbie shared many adventures, travel, and cruises. The two were made for each other and shared a great life. Bob passed away on October 24, 2008.  Roberta remained in the family home for several more years.

In August of 2018, Roberta moved into Normandy Park Assisted Living, a place she truly enjoyed and loved. Roberta made several new friends and enjoyed the activities sponsored by the facility. If you tried calling her during bingo days there was a good chance you would only get her voicemail. Roberta was very competitive during any of the games and had many ‘winnings’ to show for it. This was a good place to call home for the last 4 years.

On October 6, 2023, Roberta Unser went to be with God.  She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, and her siblings.  She was a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend.  She will be missed by all, but never forgotten.
