Obituary
Roberta Alice Lockwood was born on July 17, 1935, in New Rochelle, New York. She was born to Mary and Milton Lockwood. Unfortunately, in the 1940’s her father passed away due to blood clot, so her mother Mary raised all three children by herself.
Roberta, who preferred to be called Bobbie, met Robert Taggart at Chicago Midway airport where Bob carried her bags and got her phone number. Their first date was at a pizza parlor in Chicago. On July 25, 1959, they married and eventually had three children: Robert L.S. Taggart Jr., James J.B. Taggart and Stephen H.M. Taggart. All three of their children have survived both parents. Bobbie loved family events and seemed to work night and day to make everyone happy and fed!
She was always generous to all her relatives and friends too! She rarely missed someone’s birthday or their anniversaries. She was quite a storyteller and told a few whoppers!!! She was truly a very unique person who seemed to never give up and always said, “everyone has good and bad points.”
In the latter years of her life, she seemed to focus on her nine grandchildren: Ryan, James Lee, Abby, Corina, Aaron, Chris, Stephanie, Briana and Andre. She truly loved everyone. but these grandchildren seemed to bring a special twinkle in her eyes and joy to her heart!!! She would send them cards, candy and other gifts year-round it seemed!!! Anyone who knew Bobbie experienced her generosity. She was truly one of a kind.
In her last year her primary care providers: Kristi, Molly and Rosa did a great job taking care of her and made her life much more comfortable and joyful. Thank You!!!
Unfortunately, due to multiple health complications Bobbie Taggart passed into eternity on July 19, 2025, to meet Jesus and other family members just after turning 90 years old. She will truly be missed by all who knew her!
