Roger F. Siler
Roger was born February 19, 1934 in Tacoma, WA. Father Harry Siler was on the State Legislature, a farmer, a WSU graduate his mother Nora Siler was a school teacher and champion tennis player.
Roger died February 9, 2014 at Swedish Hospital 1st Hill, peacefully.
Roger was a well liked gentleman with a fine sense of humor. He attended the University of Washington earning a BA Degree & Post-graduate work High School teacher of English & Drama. Roger was a fine pianist and poet. He also earned a Hair Stylist and Real Estate License.
Roger was the store manager at Hartman Books, SCC Bookstore where he was much loved.
Roger is survived by partner of over 40 years, Alphonzo Bivens & the Siler Family of Anderson Island.
A memorial service will be held Sat. February 15th at 4pm at Bonney-Watson, 1732 Broadway, Seattle, WA.
With deepest sympathy. He was a good man and manager at Hunters in Bellevue.
Roger was a great neighbor. I’ll miss his laugh and smart whit. I’m so sorry for your loss Alfonzo.
I have many fond memories of those days at Hunters Books, and Roger was a huge part of that. He was a joy to work with. My condolences to Alphonzo, to Roger’s family, and to all those who will miss him.
I worked with Roger at Hunter’s Books in Bellevue Square from 1978 til March of 1983. I remember Roger’s calmness when the owner of the store would come for visits. We had fun with High Tea and Roger brought in a beautiful teapot. I will miss him.
